ICOM IC-T70A/E

The Icom IC-T70A is a VHF/UHF Dual Band Amateur Radio with impressive audio and plenty of power. With its 2m/70cm dual band operation, rich analog features and rugged construction, the T70A is a perfect choice for ham radio enthusiasts from all walks of life.

The IC-T70A features 302 alphanumeric memory channels and 26 memory banks with up to 100 channels per bank. The T70A also offers 16 DTMF autodial memories, built-in CTCSS/DTCS tone codes, Pocket beep alerts and Tone scan to detect sub-audible tones used for repeater access. This model also features VOX (Voice Operated Transmit) with adjustable level and time delay for hands-free operation using an optional plug adapter cable and headset.

With the Icom IC-T70A, transmissions come in loud and clear. It’s equipped with a BTL (bridge-tied load) amplifier for double the audio output and a large 36mm speaker that belts it all out at 700mW so you can hear it in noise polluted areas.

The T70A has up to 5W of power on VHF and UHF bands with long battery life. The Icom BP-264 Ni-MH battery pack can power it up to for 10 hours on a full charge. A built-in external DC power jack can charge the battery pack and allow you to power the radio when used with an optional external 10-16VDC power supply. For even more battery life, an optional BP-265 Li-Ion battery can be used to give the T70A up to 13.5 hours of uptime. You can even run the T70A on AA alkaline batteries with an optional battery case. (Note: The BP-265 Li-ion battery cannot be charged using the external DC power jack.)

The IC-T70A is also rugged. It is rated IP54 for dust and water resistance and meets equivalent MIL-STD-810-C, D, E and F environmental testing.
